The IDEA Sports Park Stingrays will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Port Isabel Tarpons at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. IDEA Sports Park's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Last Tuesday, IDEA Sports Park suffered a rough 4-1 defeat at the hands of Harmony School of Innovation.
Meanwhile, Port Isabel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Rio Hondo. Considering Port Isabel has won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
They hit Rio Hondo with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Joaquin Leon Pena (2),
Dominic Acosta (2),
Anthony Garcia (2), and
Daniel Childress.
IDEA Sports Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Port Isabel, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season.
