The Horizon Science Academy Hawks suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Wellington School 62-14. Horizon Science Academy has struggled against Wellington School recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Horizon Science Academy still got an impressive performance from Hawa Ba, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Ba is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last ten games she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Horizon Science Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wellington School posted 15 assists.
Wellington School was led to victory by Elodie Ware and Dea Singh. Ware scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Singh dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Singh has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eve O' Sullivan, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Horizon Science Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Wellington School, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon Science Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Whitehall-Yearling at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Whitehall-Yearling is ranked 685th, while Horizon Science Academy is ranked 687th). As for Wellington School, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Rosecrans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
