Football Recap: Heritage Academy Starts Season with Victory Against NFL yet Academy

Heritage Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the NFL Yet Academy Eagles 63-8. The Heroes haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Preston Miller, who threw for 191 yards and four TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also picked up 75 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 75 receiving yards gave Miller a new career-high. Kaelan Williams was in the mix too, providing Heritage Academy with four scores.

Heritage Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Abner Lopez. Heritage Academy got some further help from Nicholas Arteaga: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Coming up, Heritage Academy will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Desert Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for NFL Yet Academy, they will host Mountainside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
