The Thomas Jefferson Spartans will head out to take on the Evergreen Cougars at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Thomas Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Thomas Jefferson will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Littleton on Saturday. The Spartans came out on top against the Lions by a score of 11-8. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Shepard Schneider, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Romeo Villagrana also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Evergreen gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Jefferson Academy.

Evergreen also got a great performance from George Hughen as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Brecken Worthington was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Tanner Tinstman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Evergreen, their record now sits at 1-0.

Thomas Jefferson might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Evergreen in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
