They took  a  69-51 bruising from the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings  (they are ranked 378th, while the Crusaders are ranked first).
 Archbishop Stepinac's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Darius Ratliff, who  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and 18  boards. The dominant performance gave  Ratliff a new career-high in  points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Danny Carbuccia, who  dropped  a double-double on 15 points and ten  assists.
Mt. St. Michael Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Archbishop Stepinac, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
 Mt. St. Michael Academy has  already played their next  match (against Cardinal Hayes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Archbishop Stepinac wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  game,  an  80-60  win against Xaverian on the 15th.
