Even though The Central Valley Falcons have not done well against the Anderson Cubs recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Central Valley walked away with a 25-12 win over Anderson. The win made it back-to-back wins for Central Valley.
Diego Recio was his usual excellent self, rushing for 161 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Recio is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Vincent Vanpal also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why Anderson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Lockhart. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Lockhart's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Central Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Anderson, their loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Valley will take on Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Anderson, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Valley at 7:30 p.m.
