River Ridge dropped down to 5-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Peninsula Seahawks, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Peninsula, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average this season.

For Peninsula's part, Logan Johnson looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaleb Copeland, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Pete Browand, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

While River Ridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
