Dos Palos took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mendota, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Broncos have posted since August 23rd.
Dos Palos was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-11, 22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-7.

Kodi Gonzales and Hailey Portillo were among the main playmakers for Dos Palos as the former had 34 digs and two aces and the latter had 12 digs and two aces. Gonzales has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilliana Gonzales, who had 12 digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Dos Palos was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Tranquillity made easy work of Firebaugh on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.
Tranquillity never let Firebaugh on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-22.
Tranquillity's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Dos Palos, their win bumped their record up to 11-15-1.
