The Roaring Fork Rams have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They took down North Fork 52-38 on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Roaring Fork, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Roaring Fork found their leader in underclassman Kiko Pena, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pena has scored all season. Ethan Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
North Fork's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryder Hart, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Forrest Gonzalez, who scored eight points.
Roaring Fork's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for North Fork, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grand Valley the next time they take the court. Roaring Fork will head out to face Grand Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while North Fork will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
