The Tate Aggies had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Pine Forest 49-47. For Tate, this counts as revenge for the 65-57 defeat the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Lucas Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five assists and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaquan Mcdonald, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Tate's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Pine Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tate will take on the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Tayshaun Gilcrist and Williams. As for Pine Forest, they and the Royals will face off at 6:45 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jay will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
