Valley took down Albuquerque 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
West Mesa made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,973 from 9,103. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 58-21 victory over Highland last week.
The Mustangs' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dominic Davis threw for 174 and four touchdowns and Romolo Salazar had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Gary Thibeaux chipped in 62 yards. Mike Archuleta helped West Mesa's passing attack out by catching three balls for 48 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Bo Coleman of the Vikings is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1169. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Atrisco Heritage Academy's Ricci Alvidrez has rushed for 715 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Salazar. The West Mesa star has 43 catches for 548 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Mesa takes on Valley. As it stands, Ron McMath's team is in third, while Enrico Marcelli's team is in second.
The Mustangs led the league in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on the Hornets. Davis ran for 35 yards in the win.
