The Paradise Honors Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Arcadia Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Paradise Honors will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Paradise Honors needed a bit of extra time to put away Greenway. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Demons, sneaking past 6-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 6, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Olivia Jimenez Facio made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabrielle Marquez, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Meghan Stroh was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Arcadia was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mica Mountain.
Arcadia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Dreier, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Paradise Honors pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Arcadia, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10-1.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Paradise Honors hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Arcadia struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
