The Tooele Buffaloes's road trip will continue as they head out to face the East Leopards at 1:45 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 two weeks ago.
Tooele pushed their score all the way to 67, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Park City by a score of 70-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (59), Tooele still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Crew Lewis, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Ethan B rogers was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, East struggled with offensive rebounds on Wednesday (Mountain View had 19 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. East received a tough blow as they fell 63-49 to Mountain View. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East has scored all season.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Sawyer Sutton and Bryce Mella. Mella had a great game and scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Meanwhile, Sutton was balling out in the loss, scoring 18 points.
Tooele's record is now 2-4. East's record is now 4-3.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's match: Tooele have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.8 threes per game. It's a different story for East, though, as they've been averaging only 6.7 threes per game. Given Tooele's sizeable advantage in that area, East will need to find a way to close that gap.
