Carrollton has won 16 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Gillespie has won 16 straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Carrollton Hawks will welcome the Gillespie Miners at 4:30 p.m. Carrollton will be strutting in after a win while Gillespie will be coming in after a defeat.
Carrollton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Lincolnwood 6-0.
Lincolnwood's batters probably weren't too happy with Hannah Uhles, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up zero walks). The dominant performance gave Uhles a new career-high in strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Gillespie might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Pawnee who claimed the real prize. Gillespie fell just short of Pawnee by a score of 8-7.
Sadie Sholtis was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Sholtis was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Delaney Taylor and Ava Parish did some serious damage despite the final result: Taylor went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Parish went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Paxton Reid was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Carrollton suffered a grim 16-9 defeat to Gillespie in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Carrollton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
