D'montre Wade ran for two touchdowns and
Max Staver added two as well as
Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, Tenn.) defeated Father Ryan (Nashville, Tenn.) 45-7 on Saturday.
The Eagles were up 38-0 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal by
Ben Boatright in the first quarter.
Brentwood Academy expanded its lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. BA's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Shawn Brashers.
A 35-point second quarter helped the Brentwood school secure the big victory. The Eagles scored on a Wade touchdown run, a touchdown run by Staver, a Wade touchdown run, a Staver touchdown pass to
Justin Anderson and a touchdown run by Staver in the quarter.
Staver was the top performer for Brentwood Academy. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Luke Strebel played well for the Fightin' Irish. The junior kicked one extra point.
Father Ryan's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Led by
C.j. Sanders, BA came into the game allowing 13.3 points per game. The seven points that FR ended with were below its average of 12.6 coming into the game.
The Eagles also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 31-10.
Brentwood Academy (7-1) goes up against Ensworth in a Division II AA - East/Middle game matchup next week, while Father Ryan (2-6) locks horns with Battle Ground Academy also in a Division II AA - East/Middle game.
