Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr. Dazzles in Irmo Win
Irmo picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr.. Brand Jr. was unstoppable, rushing for 210 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 120 yards while completing 75% of his passes. Those 210 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Unfortunately for River Bluff, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Brand Jr. Brand Jr. threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Gators duked it out back in September of 2023.

Aaron Griffin Delivers Best Performance of Season
River Bluff came up short on Friday despite Aaron Griffin delivering his best game to date. Griffin rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Griffin might have his next game, a road matchup with Chapin, circled on his calendar. When Griffin last faced the Eagles back in October of 2023, he picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Tanner Short Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Chapin had to settle for second even though Tanner Short put up the best numbers he has all season. Short picked up two sacks and made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
If the past is any indication, Short could be in store for another big game when he takes on River Bluff on Friday. Short picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (5.0 for loss) the last time he and the Gators duked it out back in October of 2023.

Maurice Anderson and Co. Win 14th in a Row
Maurice Anderson's big game helped extend Dutch Fork's winning streak to 14 on Friday. Anderson wasn't messing around, rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 68 receiving yards and a touchdown. The game was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.
Dutch Fork's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Anderson and Dutch Fork will take on Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Cole Martin Goes Supernova in Chapin Defeat
Cole Martin posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 59 receiving yards.
On the season, Martin has averaged 45.1 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 5.71 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 80.86 rushing yards.
