North East has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Joppatowne Mariners at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, North East ended up a good deal behind Bohemia Manor and lost 67-50.
Meanwhile, Joppatowne entered their tilt with Bel Air with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Joppatowne simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Bel Air 78-51 at home. Joppatowne has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 27 points or more this season.
Joppatowne found their leader in underclassman Kishann Smith, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Smith hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Phil Clark was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
North East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Joppatowne, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
North East was dealt a bruising 68-28 loss at the hands of Joppatowne when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point North East was down 37-15.
