West Florence suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Friday. Their tough 83-61 loss to South Florence might stick with them for a while. West Florence has struggled against South Florence recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
West Florence's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Josh Gamble, who scored 21 points along with three steals, and Jayaun Perkins who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perkins has scored all season. Kelvin Cade was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Myrtle Beach beat North Myrtle Beach 53-43 on Friday. The win was just what Myrtle Beach needed coming off of a 82-34 loss in their prior contest.
West Florence has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Myrtle Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
