The Riesel Indians will be playing at home against the Axtell Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Riesel has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
Last Tuesday, Riesel ended up a good deal behind the Bulldogs and lost 50-31. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riesel in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Trent Hickerson, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Axtell escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Panthers by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.
Riesel has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Axtell, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-13.
Things could have been worse for Riesel, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 39-21 loss to the Longhorns in their previous meeting back in January.
