The Mount Calvary Christian Chargers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Covenant Christian Academy 82-41 at home. Mount Calvary Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.
Avery Kopcha continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 6-for-12 from deep and dropping a double-double on 41 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Mount Calvary Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Masters, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
The win (which was Mount Calvary Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 12-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Covenant Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.
Mount Calvary Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Coventry Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mount Calvary Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Coventry Christian likes a good challenge. Covenant Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
