Arroyo added to the longest winning streak in Mission Valley this week by beating Baldwin Park, 56-53. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Arroyo and the Braves played the most contested game in the league this week, with Arroyo eventually emerging with a 56-53 victory. Nathan Coto threw for 363 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 130 yards in the win.
Jim Singiser's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Coto contributed 130 yards. Jose Avalos helped Arroyo's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 109 yards.
He went 15-28 with 1 interception.
Coto was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Randy Amezcua added to the ground attack by rushing for 101 yards.
The Knights' Coto and Nico Lozano have formed a dream team this season, leading Mission Valley in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Coto has thrown for 2,931 yards this season, while Lozano has 51 catches for 1,246 yards. Jose Moreno from Mountain View leads the league in rushing with 1,697 yards.
Marcos Lopez has rushed for 948 yards on 133 carries so far this year.
Gabrielino lost to San Dimas 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
