On Saturday, Brewer came up short against DeSoto and fell 48-40.
Brewer's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Perez, who scored 20 points along with 4 steals. Perez scored a full 50% of Brewer's points, the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyren Mitchell, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
Brewer's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for DeSoto, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Brewer's road trip will continue as they head out to face Keller Central at 8:00 p.m. on December 5th. Keller Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 932nd, while Brewer is ranked 56th). As for DeSoto, they will be playing at home against Andress at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Andress knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully DeSoto likes a good challenge.
