North Central II/Bay Football recap November 5, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Nate Walker and George Sammon connected against California School for the Deaf. The connection was good for 77 yards, the longest such play in North Central II/Bay Football this season.
Calistoga scaled the state rankings by moving to 517 from 559 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to move up by beating Tomales 52-16.
Dante Johnson had an awesome week catching the football as Emery defeated the Eagles. He caught 4 passes for 221 yards.
Walker threw for 398 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 13-21 with 0 interceptions.
Walker put up the best numbers through the air as the Spartans bested California School for the Deaf. Walker's favorite target this week was Johnson, who caught 4 passes for 221 yards.
Emery's Walker and Elijah Lucy have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Walker has thrown for 1,102 yards this season, while Lucy has 30 catches for 716 yards. Dylan Alvarado from Calistoga leads the league in rushing with 1,709 yards.
The top two teams in North Central II/Bay Football will face off this week when first place Calistoga takes on second place St. Vincent de Paul. Last week, Paul Harrell's team topped the Braves, while St. Vincent de Paul defeated Upper Lake.
Warren Keller's team's Jax Pedersen is a mere 33 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 144 carries Pedersen has accumulated 967 yard this year.
The Wildcats' offense has scored 369 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Mustangs have allowed only 76 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when St. Vincent de Paul takes on Calistoga. Gary Galloway's team has allowed 76 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 89. The Mustangs allowed 0 points last week as they beat the Cougars.
Calistoga extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tomales, 52-16. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
