The Beach Bulldogs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 43-21 loss at the hands of Liberty County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Beach in their matchups with Liberty County: they've now lost three in a row.
Carlos Keverene singleton went supernova for Liberty County, throwing for 253 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Ron Golden, who picked up 82 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Liberty County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Desmond Brown and his three sacks.
Beach's loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-1 Calvary Day and 7-2 Savannah Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.2% over those games). As for Liberty County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Beach will head out on the road to face off against Calvary Day at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Calvary Day's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. As for Liberty County, they will be playing at home against Savannah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Savannah Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
