There's no place like home for the Angola Hornets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-45 win over Churubusco on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Angola also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Dane Lantz, who scored 20 points along with four blocks and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Angola's points. Cameron Mcgee was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Angola's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Churubusco, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Angola will head out on the road to square off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Churubusco, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Churubusco likes a good challenge.
