The Lee County Yellow Jackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 77-71 win over Union Pines. The win was a breath of fresh air for Lee County as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Lee County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nic Farrow led the charge by scoring 25 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Farrow has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnie Hooker, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylen Kyle, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Trent Hilburn, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Lee County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Union Pines, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Lee County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Hoke County at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hoke County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lee County in North Carolina (Hoke County is ranked 184th, while Lee County is ranked 409th). As for Union Pines, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Scotland at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
