The Cambridge Gryphons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 72-36 loss at the hands of Boston Trinity Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cambridge in their matchups with Boston Trinity Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Boston Trinity Academy to victory were Kyle Cameron Martin and Ceadan McCusker. Martin scored 14 points along with six steals, while McCusker dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that McCusker pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Glover, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Cambridge bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Boston Trinity Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Cambridge will head out on the road to take on Newman at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boston Trinity Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 30.
