The Nordheim Pirates were the 53-45 winner over the Pettus Eagles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Nordheim took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pettus on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pettus found their leader in underclassman Ramon Reyna, who scored 20 points. Reyna hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Orr, who scored 12 points.
Nordheim's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Pettus, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-17.
Nordheim will be playing at home against Austwell-Tivoli at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Austwell-Tivoli knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Nordheim likes a good challenge. As for Pettus, they will head out on the road to face off against Moulton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moulton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Pettus surely won't give up without a fight.
