Even though the Kamiak Knights scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, the North Creek Jaguars still came out on top. North Creek escaped with a win against Kamiak by the margin of a single free throw, 70-69. The score was all tied up 34-34 at the break, but North Creek was the better team in the second half.
Tristan Bautista was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cris Bonicillo, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
North Creek's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Kamiak, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Creek will take on Mount Si at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Si will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Kamiak, they will play host again and welcome Mt. Rainier, where tip off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mt. Rainier focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
