Wakulla has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Gadsden County Jaguars at TBD on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Thursday, Wakulla had to suffer through a rough 54-24 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. Wakulla has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Wakulla saw an underclassman step up: Amariyah Donaldson dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Donaldson has scored all season. Cherish Bolen was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Gadsden County lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Lincoln on the road and fell 61-25. Gadsden County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.
Gadsden County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Khyla Robinson, who scored nine points, and Camyria Clemons who scored seven points.
Wakulla's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Gadsden County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Wakulla came up short against the Jaguars in their previous meeting last Thursday, falling 55-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Clemons, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Now that Wakulla knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
