The Cordova Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Gulf Shores Dolphins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Cordova sitting on three straight wins and Gulf Shores on four.
Cordova barely beat Carbon Hill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cordova was the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Carbon Hill on Tuesday. Considering the Blue Devils have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Camden Johnson was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had over her last ten contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Khloe Herron, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Chloe Phillips also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Cordova kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbon Hill only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Gulf Shores earned an 8-4 victory over Brighton on Tuesday.
Like Cordova, Gulf Shores also got a great game from a two-way player: Anna Leigh Price. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Price has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Neaveh James was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Rhyleah Gleber was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Cordova's record is now 11-6. As for Gulf Shores, their record now sits at 15-9-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Cordova hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Gulf Shores struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
