Kennebunk will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Gorham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Kennebunk got the win against Marshwood by a conclusive 17-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Juliann Pike made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Pike was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Talia Kellum, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Paige Williams was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Kennebunk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshwood only posted an OBP of .280.
Meanwhile, Gorham waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since May 3, 2024.
Bella McBrady spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Lucy Dubail was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Abbie Buckelew, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Kennebunk's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Gorham, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
