The Jim Thorpe Olympians will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Panther Valley Panthers at 7:30 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Jim Thorpe was beaten by Mahanoy Area 62-17. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jim Thorpe in their matchups with Mahanoy Area: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Panther Valley made easy work of Weatherly on Saturday and carried off a 75-49 victory. With that victory, Panther Valley brought their scoring average up to 60.5 points per game.
Among those leading the charge was Chase Weaver, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Logan Fisher was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Jim Thorpe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Panther Valley, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
