The Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Lake Mead Academy 74-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Democracy Prep Agassi Campus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tai Coleman, who scored 20 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Stroughter, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Lake Mead Academy still got an impressive performance from Gavin Cummins, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cummins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Hardy, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Democracy Prep Agassi Campus is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Lake Mead Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Democracy Prep Agassi Campus and Moapa Valley will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lake Mead Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Founders Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
