After a string of four wins, the Nettleton Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Rossview by a score of 54-52.
Rossview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Edwards led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Edwards' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cameryn Ward, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Nettleton's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Rossview, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Nettleton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Marked Tree at 4:00 p.m. Marked Tree will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Nettleton is ranked 24th). As for Rossview, they will head out on the road to face off against Jonesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jonesboro is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
