Everything went their way against Bourbon County as they made off with a 9-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
George Rogers Clark got a great performance from Ben McFadden as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave McFadden a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Abrahm Howard was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ben Fulks, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
George Rogers Clark was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lexington Catholic got the win against Lafayette on Wednesday by a conclusive 6-0.
The result came thanks to Jack Sams's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Lexington Catholic got a big performance out of Jake Scott, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Scott's first of the season. Owen Jenkins was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.
George Rogers Clark's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Lexington Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. George Rogers Clark has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lexington Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
George Rogers Clark beat Lexington Catholic 5-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
