Meanwhile, South San Antonio came up short against Southwest on Friday and fell 63-52. While losing is never fun, South San Antonio can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Southwest is ranked 102nd).
McCollum's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-13. As for South San Antonio, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.
McCollum was taken down by South San Antonio 60-32 when the teams last played back in February of 2023.
