Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cypress Creek

Cypress Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Ocoee Knights by a score of 6-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2017.

Amanda Cintron was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Britney Freitez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Izabella Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Cypress Creek's record now sits at 11-1. As for Ocoee, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Cypress Creek will challenge Winter Park at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ocoee, they will take on South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
