East River has gone 6-1 against University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
East River is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over Lake Buena Vista on Friday.

East River found their leader in sophomore Jermaine Washington, who rushed for 123 yards and three scores on only eight carries. Washington is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-6 when he doesn't).
East River didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jiovanni Smith picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University). They managed a 41-36 win over Colonial on Friday. Considering the Cougars' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
East River better keep an eye on Cesar Ramirez. He was instrumental in University's win, throwing for 332 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also punching in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave Ramirez a new career-high in passer rating (130.8). Trinel Taylor also helped out with an impressive 87 receiving yards.
University didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Colonial to a completion percentage of just 40%. The Cougars weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 70%.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-6. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for East River against University when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 51-0 victory. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
