Basketball Recap: Community School of Davidson Piles Up the Points Against Langtree Charter Academy

Community School of Davidson won against Christ the King last Tuesday with 65 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Community School of Davidson Spartans breezed by the Langtree Charter Academy Lions to the tune of 65-28. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Community School of Davidson was led to victory by Regan Downey and Scarlett Soares. Downey dropped a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds, while Soares went 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points and four steals. The contest was Downey's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Mccormick, who posted five points and four steals.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Community School of Davidson, bringing their record for this year to 10-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Community School of Davidson will face off against Pine Lake Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Community School of Davidson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Pine Lake Prep likes a good challenge. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they will challenge Christ the King at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Faithful Chambers and Anna Haynes.
