After only two runs in their last match, Shorecrest Prep made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bradenton Christian on Friday. The Chargers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Bobbie Strus made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Shorecrest Prep got a massive performance out of Madi Bidwell, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sonia Anderson, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Shorecrest Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bradenton Christian only posted an OBP of .241.

Shorecrest Prep is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bradenton Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Shorecrest Prep has already played their next game, a 16-0 victory against Admiral Farragut on the 7th. As for Bradenton Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-2 defeat against Inspiration Academy on the 7th.
