Martins Mill is 7-0 against the Wildcats since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Martins Mill Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cayuga Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Martins Mill will be looking to keep their 17-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Tuesday, Martins Mill strolled past the Indians with points to spare, taking the game 51-36. Given Martins Mill's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Indians are ranked 460th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sawyer Moore and Jak Kinder were among the main playmakers for Martins Mill as the former scored 16 points along with five assists and the latter scored 18 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Cooper Wright, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cayuga took a serious blow against the Flyers on Tuesday, falling 78-41.
Martins Mill's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Cayuga, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Martins Mill against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 70-20 win. Will Martins Mill repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
