The Bloomfield Bees will challenge the Stanton Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bloomfield comes in on five and Stanton on four.
On Tuesday, Bloomfield was able to grind out a solid win over Wausa, taking the game 43-35.
Bloomfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madyson Mlady, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mlady has scored at least a third of Bloomfield's points. Another player making a difference was Avery Bargman, who posted 13 points.
Meanwhile, Stanton made easy work of Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Saturday and carried off a 40-16 win. The Mustangs pushed the score to 35-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.
Bloomfield better keep an eye on Skyler Siebrandt. She was instrumental in Stanton's win, putting up eight points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Hupp, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Stanton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lyons-Decatur Northeast only pulled down five offensive boards.
Bloomfield has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Stanton, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bloomfield has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Stanton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.6 rebounds.
