This season hasn't been kind to the Peoria Panthers, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They fell 74-65 to Dysart on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Peoria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Dysart is ranked 46th).
Peoria lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Terrell Colenburg, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The game was Colenburg's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Desmone Brooks-conley, who scored 15 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dysart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamar Anderson, who scored 17 points. Anderson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Nigel Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Peoria's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Dysart, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoria won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Arcadia is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Dysart, they will head out on the road to face off against Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
