Smith-Cotton had lost five straight headed into Tuesday's match, but Piper Cantrell didn't let it get to six. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knob Noster Panthers on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 for which the team can thank Cantrell, who had 25 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Smith-Cotton was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-27, 24-26, 25-21, 15-9.

Smith-Cotton's victory bumped their record up to 10-18-3. As for Knob Noster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Smith-Cotton will venture away from home to square off against Boonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Knob Noster, they will square off against Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
