Football Recap: Crofton Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Niobrara/Verdigre wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Crofton, they should've done a better job of containing Tyson Jackson. The Warriors took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-20 win over the Cougars for which the team can thank Jackson, who rushed for 180 yards and five scores on only eight carries. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 143 every time he's taken the field this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Jordan, who gained 139 total yards and a touchdown. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Crofton and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 34 points. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crofton is set to take on their familiar foe Wausa/Osmond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Niobrara/Verdigre will challenge rival Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
