The Parkville Knights entered their tilt with the Towson Generals with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Parkville secured a 71-67 W over Towson on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Parkville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chima Egeonu, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 18 rebounds, and nine blocks. Egeonu has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Council, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Loss or not, Towson got some senior leadership from Quint Fryer and Braden Renner. Fryer scored 21 points along with nine rebounds, while Renner. went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 2 assists. Fryer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Korey Collins was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Parkville's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Towson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Parkville will head out on the road to challenge Randallstown at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Towson, they will be playing at home against Perry Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
