The Ansonia Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Watertown Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ansonia entered their tilt with Kennedy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ansonia strolled past Kennedy with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 47-33.
Watertown posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. Everything went their way against Derby as Watertown made off with a 62-41 win. Given Watertown's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Derby is ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ansonia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Watertown, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Ansonia was able to grind out a solid victory over Watertown when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 46-39. Will Ansonia repeat their success, or does Watertown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
