The Skyview Wolverines won against The Academy Wildcats on Monday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Skyview simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat The Academy 67-22 on the road. With Skyview ahead 45-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Skyview was led to victory by Leila Estrada and Nevaeh Lucero. Estrada scored 10 points along with 9 assists and 7 steals, while Lucero scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Vero Munoz, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, The Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Skyview racked up 22.
The win makes it two in a row for Skyview and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for The Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Skyview's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fort Morgan at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st. Allowing an average of 58 points per game, Fort Morgan has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. The Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eaton at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Eaton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
