The Hudson Cobras had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Central with a 45-41 victory on Thursday. The victory was just what Hudson needed coming off of a 72-11 loss in their prior contest.
Hudson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Rutherford led the charge by scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Cloie Hagin, who scored 11 points.
Hudson's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Central, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson will take on Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Nature Coast Tech is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Central, they will play host again and welcome Leesburg, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Leesburg's defense has only allowed 19.9 points per game this season, so Central's offense will have their work cut out for them.
